Privacy Policy
FindBack is a link saving and search app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use FindBack.
Information We Process
Account Information
The current native app is designed to sync saved links through the user's private iCloud database and does not require a separate FindBack account for bookmark sync. Some previous or test builds may include account sign-in; if you use one of those builds, we may process account identifiers such as email address, user ID, workspace ID, session cookies, and account creation time.
Saved Links and Notes
When you save a link, FindBack may process the original URL, normalized URL, page title, source domain, content type, notes you enter, generated categories, tags, topics, keywords, saved date, and basic item metadata needed to show, search, open, and delete saved links.
Metadata and Search
FindBack may generate basic local metadata, categories, tags, and keywords to make saved links easier to recognize and search. External AI processing and server-side metadata fetching are off by default in the current native release.
iCloud, Share Extension, and Local App Data
Saved links may be stored in your private iCloud CloudKit database so your iPhone, iPad, and Mac can sync through your Apple account. The apps may also store settings, temporary Share Extension data, and local UI state on your device.
Technical Data
For support, diagnostics, and platform operation, Apple and the operating system may process technical information related to app distribution, iCloud, crash logs, and device operation. If you contact support, we may process the information you include in your message.
How We Use Information
- To save, sync, search, open, and delete links.
- To support iOS Share Extension saving.
- To generate local metadata and improve search quality.
- To answer support requests and diagnose problems.
- To comply with legal, security, and platform requirements.
Third-Party Services
FindBack may rely on Apple for app distribution, iCloud, CloudKit, Share Extension support, operating system features, crash diagnostics, and device-level sync. We may use email and website hosting providers to provide support and publish policy pages.
FindBack does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs in the current release. FindBack does not use saved link data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
AI Processing
External AI processing is off by default in the current native release. If AI features are added in the future, this policy and App Store privacy disclosures will be updated as needed.
Retention and Deletion
Saved links may remain in your private iCloud database while you keep the saved items and iCloud data. If you delete a saved item, FindBack requests deletion of that item from CloudKit. Apple may retain iCloud backups or logs according to Apple's policies. If you used a previous account-based build, you may request deletion of account data by contacting support.
Your Choices
- Delete saved links in the app.
- Manage iCloud sign-in and iCloud app data through Apple system settings.
- Request help by email if you used a previous account-based build.
- Delete the app to remove local app data from your device, subject to operating system backup settings.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help.
Children
FindBack is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to collect personal information from children.
Security
FindBack relies on Apple's iCloud and CloudKit security for private sync, and uses platform safeguards for local app data. No internet or cloud service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect user data with reasonable safeguards.
Changes
We may update this policy when FindBack changes, when our infrastructure changes, or when legal or platform requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page.
